And then I lost it.
In 1984, two North Carolina girls, age 4 and 6, were molested. They told police their abuser was Sylvester Smith, who was dating the mother of one of the girls, and he went to prison for the crime.
Twenty years later, the victims recanted, saying their grandmother told them to blame Smith, and his conviction was overturned.
But the person they say who really molested them — their cousin, who was nine at the time — could not be prosecuted because he was under age at the time of the alleged crime. He is, however, serving a life sentence for another crime he committed in the meantime: murder.
Smith’s discarded conviction is one of nearly 900 such cases filed in the National Registry of Exonerations, a database of prisoners exonerated in the U.S. of serious crimes since 1989, that was made public on Monday.
In compiling the database, researchers became aware of more than 1,100 other cases in which convictions were overturned due to 13 separate police corruption scandals, most of which involved the planting of drugs or guns on innocent defendants. Those exonerations are not included in the registry.
It appears it is a day of Dead Poets. Verily, I say woo hoo!

Bullshit.
Definition of sexism: 1: prejudice or discrimination based on sex; especially :discrimination against women
2: behavior, conditions, or attitudes that foster stereotypes of social roles based on sex
There is nothing in the dictionary that says that sexism or racism is only defined by a “system.” If you treat/think of/or whatever someone in a negative or adversely biased manner based on their race, gender, orientation or whatever else floats your boat, you are therefore a racist, sexist, bigoted, whatever-ed-ist person.
It doesn’t matter of you are white, or your target is white, or if you are a woman, or your target is a woman, you are still a bigot.
Do not use straw-man arguments in order to destroy whatever white/male privilege exists, (me being both, I know it exists). It is not helpful. Also, redefining the words to suit your argument invalidates your argument, as well as condones racism/sexism against those you try to exclude.
Try growing up, going to high school in particular and dating a POC, in some parts of this country as a white person. You’ll get your ass handed to you. I never enjoyed being called a klan member growing up, and my girlfriend at the time didn’t enjoy being called a traitor either.
Bigotry is bigotry regardless of the target. Until some people can realize this, they’ll only make it worse.
Now, with that said, racism/sexism against white males is kind of a joke, especially in America. “Oh no, I’m a cracker. Thou doth cutteth me deeply.” But that doesn’t mean you get to treat a person like shit because of “privilege” or whatever.
Edit: Thought came to me, that might help dissuade any “you don’t understand whitey” arguments I might have thrown at me.

I’m an Atheist.
I have been told numerous times that I am going to hell, (ok? you can go to Candyland). I’ve known others to receive death threats. I have to, on a regular basis, listen to religous sermon-type things before retirements, promotions, all-calls, and various other official functions, because the military is “Only for god-fearing ‘MERICANS!”
I usually just try to go to sleep during these, though it doesn’t nearly always work out.
Now, does having another person’s religion forced on to me give me the right to A: Force them to give up their religon? (No, though its use at these official functions is questionable, and has been greatly reduced since I joined) or B: To go around calling all the Christians in my squadron a bunch of slack-jawed mother-raping morons for believing in a magical sky-fairy?
NO!
Intolerance is intolerance no matter who the actor or target may be.
